The Drive to Keep Going and the Wisdom to Stop

Lately, I’ve felt … blah.
Not uninspired exactly. More like an in-between space where nothing’s wrong, but things feel...misty. The to-do lists are still there. My schedule is consistent. Goals are still in motion. It’s a knowing that you are in an unfolding. And for me, it’s extremely frustrating.
Perhaps you know that feeling too. Maybe you're feeling it, as well.
And maybe, like me, you need a reminder that we’re not machines, productivity doesn't define us, and that, well, we’re human. Beautifully complex, occasionally exhausted, deeply feeling humans.
This month’s podcast guests thus far have resonated with me in different ways with this common thread: inspiration doesn’t always come from doing more; it often comes from slowing down. Meeting ourselves in silence and pouring into our own cup.

Dr. Robert Forto, professional dog musher, leadership coach, and host of Dog Works Radio, talked about what it takes to mush through the wilderness (literal sled dogs and snow and survival), but also the mental wilderness that is leadership, discipline, and trusting your own journey.

With Natajia Miller, luxury travel expert and founder of Embrace Resort in the Bahamas, we explored the flip side of the hustle: what happens when you’ve built your dream life, achieving beyond your goals, but you’re too exhausted to enjoy it. After years of building a dream business in the Bahamas, she hit a wall and made a powerful shift toward intentional living, self-care, and designing a life she didn’t need a vacation from.
They both reminded me that productivity isn’t the goal—alignment is. And that’s where the real magic happens. We are many things at once: Knowing what you want isn't always what you need. Grateful and frustrated. Dreaming and still figuring it all out.
And that’s okay.
If you're feeling lit up and ready to sprint, go for it! But if you're feeling foggy, flat, or like you need a minute to breathe? I’m right there with you. Either way, stay hydrated and give yourself grace.
Here’s your permission (not that you need it):
To rest. To pause. To take a beat before the next climb. To not be productive. Be still. Breathe and ground yourself. Because the fire comes back. It always does. (Formation is always a match for my flame.)
And when it does, you’ll be ready.
I’d love to hear from you:
How are you feeling lately?

Wait - What Do You Do Again? is TURNING ONE!
July marks the 1 year of “Wait—What Do You Do Again?” and I’m so grateful to you for listening, supporting, and sharing this space with me.
To celebrate, I’m doing a giveaway! Anyone who signs up for the newsletter by June 30 will be entered to win:
Merch (it’s cute, promise)
One winner will receive free 1:1 coaching sessions with me!
To enter: You are reading this, so you are already entered to win. But do me a favor and forward this to a friend with the gentle suggestion (re: demand) for them to subscribe to the newsletter. That’s it. And maybe the podcast. That’d be nice, too.
Thanks for being part of this journey—it wouldn’t be the same without you.
With lots of love (and maybe a nap in my future).
xoxo,
Meghan
